Let's start with the competition factor. The problem with affiliate marketing is the mindset of people who go into it. They think that the only way to be successful is to promote the products that are at the top of the Clickbank food chain and all to do with making money.

Wrong!

If you go to Clickbank and check out some of the other categories, such as Home and Family or even Society and Culture, you will find a number of products with decent gravities and commissions that aren't being sold by everybody and their grandmother. A gravity of about 25 or 30 is very easy to sell but shows a product that is in fact selling.

All you have to do, is research the keywords used to look up these products. How? Go to the product's sales page and view the HTML source code. Look at the keyword meta tags. These will tell you what keywords to target. After that, it's simply a matter of writing articles targeted to those keywords, submit them to article directories and set up a blog with a review of the product and a link to the sales page.

Affiliate marketing is one area where almost everybody wants to get into, regardless of the fact that affiliate marketing can be one of the most difficult things to be successful with. Yes, it's true. Affiliate marketing is not easy.

One of the main reasons affiliate marketing is so hard is because of the fact that everybody wants to do it. The competition, especially in the "make money" niche, is incredible. Compounding that problem is the fact that most affiliates want to promote the hottest program. What they don't realize is that the hottest programs are promoted by the most affiliates. Unless you have a solid list to start off with or excellent marketing skills, you're going to be behind the 8 ball before you even start.

Another reason that affiliate marketing is so hard is because in fact, most people don't know how to advertise online. Their education consists of slapping a poorly thought out 3 lines on Adwords, spending a fortune in click costs and making no sales. The horror stories are enough to make you scream. People don't realize, especially for new marketers, that there are many ways to market online that are more cost efficient than Adwords and a whole lot easier.

Finally, one other reason why affiliate marketing is so hard is because marketers don't know how to pick products. Either they just go for the hottest selling products, that have way too much competition, or they pick products that have no chance of selling.

There are several stats for each product that you need to concentrate on.

These are the following:

$/Sale

%/Sale

% Refd

Gravity

I'll cover these one at a time.  These are the things my mentor taught me about making money online and finding the right affiliate product to market.

$/Sale - This is how much you will earn, on average, for each sale of the product that you make. My suggestion is to not bother with products where the commission is less than $20. $10 products just aren't worth the advertising hassle. You want to know that you are going to get a decent commission for each sale that you make. This weeds out a lot of products.

%/Sale - This is the commission percentage that the merchant offers for his product. You absolutely don't want to sell anything that's less than 50%. You're doing all the work for this person so you are entitled to get a decent commission. Ideally, you want to look for products that have commission percentages of 60% or even 70%.

% Refd - This is the percentage of sales for this product coming from affiliates. Ideally, you want a product that doesn't have a large number here but does have something. If nobody sells a product, there is a good chance that the product isn't worth selling. I look for % Referred of around 50% to 70% but no more. If I see a product that has 89% referred, I know I'm probably going up against a lot of people. That's where the next stat comes in.

Gravity - This is the average number of people selling that product who are making money doing so. You want a product with some gravity, so you know that it does sell, but not so much that you're in competition with a ton of people. If you go to the top products under Marketing and Ads, you will find gravities of about 300 or more. These products are almost impossible to compete with. I look for products that have gravities of about 20 to 30. Why? This shows that some people are making money with them but no so much that the competition is extreme.

Is it hard finding products that match the above criteria? Not really, but it does take some doing. Your best bet is with the following categories:

How to make some extra Christmas fast cash:  start promoting affiliate products!  AS an enlightened wealth institute student, I learned the importance of ‘multiple streams of income’!

What exactly is affiliate marketing?  Basically, it is you promoting other peoples products and you receive a commission.  The reason why it is a great way to start making money fast is that you don’t have to invest the time and money in creating your own ebook or info product, then creating a sales page for it, a merchant account set up, the graphics for it and then most importantly for your reputation management, provide customer support to your product!  So that is a lot of work, I do recommend your business goal is to have your own products eventually but to get started real fast in making money online, promote other people’s products and you will be surprised how quickly you will start making easy money!

Some of the affiliate products I learned at the enlightened wealth institute to promote is at clickbank and commission junction.  Find a topic that is of interest to you and start promoting!

Well one of the most effective ways (and FREE) is via craigslist and also posting on your blog.  The trick to both, is that in writing up the craigslist advertisement or your blog post is to INCLUDE GRAPHICS!

Learn more about how to advertise on craiglist, don’t forget to have really good pictures and graphics.  Didn’t I already write that?  Well YES…but it is that important that I thought I would repeat it again.  Just look at any other advertisements on Craigs list today and you will see what I mean, only 10 percent or so of the craigslist advertisements have graphics or images in the ad!  Don’t you want to stand out from the crowd to attract more traffic?

For some of you who don’t know, Simon Leung is an internet marketing expert.  No words can do justice on his rise to wealth with the internet.  He started off at Google and was one of the creators of the Google adwords Program.  Do you think he knows about pay per click and building huge streams of income!

It is interesting to know that the enlightened wealth institute also has courses on making money online.  Robert G. Allen, co-founder of the enlightened wealth institute is famous for his many books, one of them being ‘Multiple Streams of Income”.  What he discusses is the importance of having more than just one stream of income…so for instance, if your making great money in real estate investing, why not branch out into “info-products&rdqu o; streams of income.  How about writing a book on how to do a real estate deal?

There are many ways to start investing in pre-foreclosure real estate and after my first enlightened wealth institute workshop, I followed the exact action plan given by enlightened wealth institute instructors.  From that action plan, I sent out a direct real estate mail campaign to a list notice of default homeowners.  Many phone calls started to come in from motivated sellers.  One of those calls led me to my first pre-foreclosure real estate deal and allowed me to negotiate many other deals and become an expert in wholsaling pre-foreclosure real estate. 

Wholesaling real estate is the quickest path to fast cash in your bank account.  It is simply contracting a property under market value and then assigning that contract to another buyer/real estate investor.  The assignment fee depends upon the amount of equity you have negotiated in the contract.  For example, if you contract a $150,000 home for $100,000 and there is about $5,000 of repairs to be done...then you are leaving $45,000 of equity or potential profit to your buyer.  What is a return of $45,000 worth to your buyer?  In this case - probably a $4,500 to $7,000 assignment fee is appropriate.  Ten percent of the equity you have left on the table for the next buyer is a typical assignment fee.  So ten percent of $45,000 is $4,500.

I discovered blogging more than two years ago from the enlightened wealth institute.  As you could probably guess, there are millions of people who turn to the internet whenever they need any kind of information. Some are looking for products while others are looking for certain services; still others are searching for solutions to their problems.

 Therefore it stands to reason that the internet is a space where you can get the maximum exposure for your real estate business.

 The first thing that you need to do is to put up useful real estate content on your website that will help others.     The second thing you should consider is to start social networking about your real estate business.  Let others know about your real estate deals and you will start to build up a buyers and sellers database.

 A great way to expand your real estate network is through various social networking sites such as squidoo, hubpages, facebook, myspace, twitter and I could name at least thirty others as more and more social networking sites are being developed. You can also collaborate with a group of popular bloggers.

 The enlightened wealth institute taught me how to be mindful of how to enlighten and motivate others as part of ‘giving back’.  Think about that in your writing as well, even if you never sell or buy a home from a prospect who visited your blog, if you added some sort of value to that person then that is very powerful.  Who knows, that person could then refer you to his or her friends and somewhere down the road karma will come back to you!

 The most interesting story that shows this effect is comparing my friend to myself.  You see, Joe (name kept confidential for personal privacy reasons) attended the same enlightened wealth institute retreat that I did back in 2003.  We joined a ‘mastermind’ group where ten of us from that enlightened wealth institute retreat would get together once a week on a conference call to keep each of us motivated.  One of things Joe was starting to have problems with was his friends…he said how a lot of them said that ‘oh, that real estate no money down Robert Allen stuff doesn’t work…they just take your money’ and we all encouraged him on the call to STOP HANGING out with those friends as most of us, if we had any ‘negative friends’, we dumped them like a hot potato!

 Fast forward one year later, Joe had yet to do one deal, was still stuck in his full time job he hated and he was worried about his health being taken down because of his job and the stress.  Myself, well, I made a lot of real estate deals and was able to quit my full time job just six months after that first enlightened wealth institute workshop and have been a full time entrepreneur since then!

However, we have come a long way since guestbooks and in the installments to follow, I'm going to cover some of the hot web 2.0 sites around.

But how does Web 2.0 help you with YOUR business? Well, very simply, it allows the marketer to promote his business in ways that weren't available years ago. For example, by going to a place like Wikipedia, you can add your thoughts and comments to a subject that may literally be seen by millions of people. Done correctly, this can add numerous visitors to your site and increase your business considerably. The more of these sites you go to and participate in, the more traffic you'll generate to your own site.

From what I learned at the Enlightened Wealth Institute, let me start right off the bat by saying this. If you want to make a substantial living working Ebay, you're going to have to put an enormous amount of time and effort into it. Ebay is not something where you can push a button and you make sales like mad.

I say that only because so many people get into a ‘get rich’ scheme and think that money will pour into their bank account in less than a month…so let’s be clear, you can make great money using the internet and some of the biggest online marketplaces such as ebay or craigslist…it is just that I don’t want you to ‘give up’ after you first few weeks.  I have made tens of thousands of dollars using ebay and craigslist, patience paid off when it took at least six months of education (such as How To Advertise on Craigslist) and applying / tweaking that knowledge until things started to click!

In this series, I'm going to provide you with some tips on the best ways to get your Ebay career off the ground.

The easiest way to make money on Ebay is simply to find things around your home that you no longer have use for and sell them.

This saves you the trouble of having to go through wholesalers or going to garage sales to pick up things. What is the enlightened wealth institute and all the buzz about the EWI Retreat 2008 in Anaheim?
